Tevita Malupo Tupou Jr. (TJ), 38, passed away October 2, 2021 surrounded by his family. TJ was born June 6, 1983 in American Fork, Utah to Tevita Malupo and Catherine McDermott Tupou. At the age of one, his family relocated to Southern Utah where TJ would call home. He attended Millcreek High and graduated from Pine View High School in 2001. TJ loved fishing, shooting guns, working on his Tahoe, and riding motorcycles. He loved to travel and was always willing to be the copilot with whoever sent an invite. TJ also enjoyed music, friends, and good food. He was often found trying new restaurants in town just to say he had been there.
TJ made friends wherever he went. He had the ability to make people feel comfortable and loved everyone like family. He had a strong connection with his nieces and nephew. To say he will be missed is an extreme understatement.
TJ was an exceptional welder and very hard worker. When he put his mind to something, he went all in. He worked at St. George Steel and other manufactures in town.
He is survived by his Parents: Tevita Malupo Tupou and Catherine Phyliss Piilani McDermott Tupou of Washington City, Utah; Siblings: Ana Lena Tupou Mays (Peter) of St. George, Utah, James Folau Heofa Tupou (Brie’Ana) of St. George, Utah, Jonathan Amanaki Tupou (Mandie) of Cedar City, Utah. Nephew: Jace Tupou; Nieces: Braelyn Tupou, Rylie Tupou, Aubree Plamer, and Taylor Mays; and countless friends, whom he considered brothers.
The family would like to express gratitude to the staff at St. George Regional ICU, who helped TJ fight his battle with COVID until the end.
