Jimmie and Tawny Hughes have deep roots in Southern Utah, with Jimmie tracing his lineage back five generations in this region. Growing up as the youngest of ten siblings, Jimmie was instilled with core values of honesty, integrity, hard work, and a commitment to serving others.


Settled in St. George, Jimmie and Tawny feel immensely blessed to raise their five children in this community, where they strive to impart the same cherished values onto their family. Jimmie's vibrant energy, coupled with his innate compassion and genuine desire to help others, naturally draws him to support those navigating the loss of a loved one during their most challenging times.


With a heartfelt dedication to service and a profound love for people, Jimmie Hughes epitomizes the spirit of generosity and empathy, embodying the essence of a true Southern Utahn committed to uplifting those around him.

Funeral Service Intern

In 2022, Ryan became a valued member of Hughes Mortuary, where he serves as a Funeral Service Intern. Currently enrolled at the Commonwealth Funeral Institute, he is diligently working towards obtaining licensure as a funeral director and mortician. 


Ryan, happily married to Taylor Korn, calls Washington, Utah, home. Beyond his professional pursuits, he finds joy in family time, exploring weekend farmers markets and car shows, and indulging in recreational pickleball. Committed to meeting the funeral needs of the Southern Utah community, Ryan takes pride in his role at Hughes Mortuary.

Ryan's journey from California to Utah has led him to discover great fulfillment within the funeral industry. As a dedicated professional, he finds purpose in providing compassionate support to families during their most challenging times. Outside of work, Ryan is a devoted father to two wonderful kids. He enjoys the outdoors, sports, and passionately supports the Vegas Golden Knights. Ryan's aspiration is to provide for his family while also serving his community with compassion and dedication.

Tim Somerville

Tim Somerville

Family Service Councilor

Tim Somerville is the Family service counselor at Hughes Mortuary. His goal is to help families from the beginning through the end. He is there to help with preplanning services and to support your loved ones by assisting in Aftercare. Tim does this by ensuring that all the details from the start are taken care of. Then follows through in the end by offering complimentary Aftercare service. Making sure you and your loved ones have direction and feel supported.


Tim was born and raised in Southern Utah. He is a positive and energetic family man. He strives to be a good example and works hard providing for his family. Tim has six boys and raises them alongside his wife here in Southern Utah. He enjoys the outdoors and family life at home with them.


Tim is a hard working family man. He is there to help and serve whenever he is needed. He enjoys his career at Hughes Mortuary and plans to continue to serve the people in Southern Utah.
